To buy a villa or apartment in Italy as « I HOUSE » is necessary:
– Be a resident in the same province in Italy, where the property is located, or within 18 months to be registered there.
– Do not be the owner of the other property in the same province
– Do not be the owner of the other property, purchased earlier as « one house » anywhere in Italy.
Annual property taxes in Italy was replaced by ICI tax IMU (unified tax) December 4, 2011. For owners I HOMES property tax is not paid. For owners II HOMES property taxes from about 0.46% to 1.06% of the cadastral value.
